The Portuguese cobblestone pavement, when it forms patterns and/or is combined with another palette (black basalt or, more commonly today in Lisbon, black limestone, grey, or even other colours such as yellowish ochres or reddish pinks, for example), is referred to by the more specific term Portuguese cobblestone artistic pavement. This work is carried out according to a particular design pattern.
